Called in to ask a question about our Knaus VanTI 650 MEG Platinum Selection and even though we had not bought it from ADVENTURE LEISURE VEHICLES, they not only answered our question fully but also carried out a minor repair and arranged a factory supplied upgrade to the USB involving a replacement part. They would not take any payment for the repair and both the owner himself and all the staff could not have been more helpful. I know where I will be getting any future habitation checks etc done in future. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with them and they even gave us a lovely coffee whist we waited.
They were well stocked with caravans mainly and several motorhomes but expect more motorhomes soon. Highly recommended.
We did subsequently have had them do the habitation service on our Knaus 650 MEG which was done quickly and professionally. However the replacement for the originally fitted incorrect USB panel with missing USB sockets was fitted but with only a blank hole where the USB sockets should have been. Not much sense in replacing the panel without fitting the USB’s was there?
Whilst there the service manager agreed to contact Knaus about a problem that needed a replacement under warranty. The original supplier had closed down shortly after we bought the vehicle, new, less than a year before and Adventure Leisure Vehicles had agreed to take over the servicing of our motorhome. Knaus refused to replace the item claiming there was evidence of wear and when I saw the e-mail that the service manager had sent I could understand why. He made it clear that we had not purchased the vehicle from them and gave no description of the faulty item or the age of the vehicle and there was no attempt to argue our case. Now I do understand that they may feel no responsibility for our vehicle but as agents for Knaus it was a fairly poor attempt to have warranty work, which they would have been re-imbursed for, done. It was a very minor fault and did not affect the use of the vehicle in any way but it was something that should not have happened in a vehicle less than a year old. We have had the matter seen to elsewhere at our own expense and it’s now fine.
It is a wonderful vehicle, probably the best we have ever owned (it’s our seventh motorhome) but we feel let down by this service manager at Adventure Leisure Vehicles who sadly always gave the impression of having a lot to do and not enough time to do it.
The gentleman who actually owns the firm is exactly that - a gentleman and most helpful, it’s sad that his service manager doesn’t quite match the same very high standard.
Don’t let this put you off using Adventure Leisure Vehicles as they are one of the best and most pleasant motorhome dealerships I have ever dealt
with.
