This is a fine example of an original 1974 VW Classic VW Devon Bay Type 2 Campervan with all the original fixtures and fittings. The colour is classic Orange and Cream with a white Devon style pop up roof.

The vehicle has a new MOT certificate valid until 18 August 2024 although as it has Historical Vehicle Tax exemption this is not a legal requirement. We consider the annual MOT check as important to ensure current roadworthiness.

We are only the second owners of this rare treasure, and have been proud custodians since 2011. We have all of the original owners documentations right down to the first tax discs, Mot Certificates and even a document folder and letter from the relative of the first owner telling the story of how this van was built for a British Ski Instructor and in the early days went to the Alps in the winter and was specially waxed and oil sealed before delivery. This is the reason why the bodywork is in such good condition, and the fact that it has been fully maintained serviced and securely garaged all of its life.

Mileage over the past 50 years is fully documented at 118,237 and well within the usual levels of expected use for this original 1600cc air cooled engine which is serviced annually.

We originally purchased our campervan when we were looking for a beach-hut and realised that this presented so many additional benefits compared to the cost of a beach hut and the fact that we could travel almost anywhere whenever we chose to pack up and go. Apart from so many glorious days at the beach on hot summer days, we had no idea just how many exciting adventures were waiting for us with our beach hut on wheels !

During our ownership our campervan has always been reliable and has never let us down on any of the numerous trips, short and long, that we have made since 2011.
