Description of Beds: Xanthos sleeps two people in a slide-away double bed (with memory foam mattress topper!) at the rear of the camper van. Bed Size: 190x120cm.

Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front (including driver) with head rests. In the main living area, you have a comfy sofa bench and single seat with custom upholstery.

About the area: Xanthos resides in Kendal, with easy access to both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. He is ideally situated for exploring, whether that be testing yourself on the Yorkshire Three Peaks, mountain biking in Coniston, climbing at some of the country’s best crags or paddle boarding on Lake Windermere. Whether you are heading to a remote Scottish Island, hiking Fairfield Horseshoe or heading up to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, sit back and stargaze with an ale in your hand in your home away from home.

Parking: If you drive to collect Xanthos, there is ample parking in the parking area outside Contour Camper's workshop. Oxenholme Station is half a mile down the road, and it is possible to walk or taxi from there.

Cooking Equipment: Xanthos has a spacious kitchen and work surface area at the front of the camper. The kitchen has a full-sized, two burner gas hob and coolbox and is fully equipped with cooking equipment for whipping up a feast; including: frying pan | saucepan | double steamer | kettle | coffee percolator | stovetop toaster | trivets and cutlery for two. There is also a grater | peeler | corkscrew | loose-leaf tea strainer | bottle/can opener | spices, as well as a washing up bowl, dustpan and brush.

Water Facilities: There is a 20-litre removable water tank under the sink that supplies water via a pump. There are also additional water containers (2x10-litre, 1x5-litre) supplied with Xanthos for if you're going off-grid for a few days. There is a solar shower that can be used outside (you use a hook to hang it off of the back or side doors). This can either be heated by the sun or you can use the kettle to make a hot shower whenever you need and whatever the weather!

Audio Equipment: We recommend bringing your own portable speaker for use both in the cab and living area of the van as his cd player/radio is not working. You can easily charge it off of the multiple USB ports around the van.

Type of Heating: Xanthos has a high-power diesel heater to keep you toasty and warm all year round, and makes winter camping super cosy! Xanthos also has air-conditioning up front and a ceiling fan to keep you cool on hot days.

Extra Information: For long-term rentals of 21+ nights, you will be given a discounted rate in Xanthos. This discount increases based on the length of your booking. If this discount isn't appearing on the booking page, please get in touch so that this can be applied.

PLEASE NOTE XANTHOS NO LONGER HAS A BIKE RACK - although you can fit two bikes underneath the bed in the large garage area (you may have to take the front wheels off).

Conversion Story: Xanthos was transformed from a courier van in 2019 into the beautiful campervan he is today. Xanthos means yellow in Greek. In 2020, Xanthos travelled to Greece and back via the Pyrenees and Alps. He powered us up huge mountain passes, in all conditions without a hitch and we can’t wait for him to continue exploring in the UK.
