Description

Description of Beds: Nancy sleeps up to three people; two adults can easily find enough space in the permanent, spacious super-king-size bed (180cm width x 200cm length) in the back of the van. A third person can sleep on the single bed (60cm width x 173cm length), which is made up of the dining table and seats. Due to our Nancy being a high-roof vehicle, there is plenty of headroom for sitting in bed. Additionally, all-around black-out blinds (with nature scenery) should help you sleep like a log!

Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with head restraints. All 3 seats have three-point belts. Both passenger seats are suitable for a child car seat using the belt. In the living/dining area, you will find a removable tabletop and two 60cm wide cushioned seats. A third foldable, padded chair can be made available as well.

Description of Electrical Setup: Nancy has a state of the art electrical system to support your adventures, whether that is hooked up on-site or remote off-grid. There is a split-charge relay which ensures all batteries are charged when driving, and two 130Ah leisure batteries with 300W of solar charging capability, enabling fully off-grid operation. There is also a 1000W inverter to provide an amount of mains power (240V) whilst off-grid. There is one double and one single mains (240V) socket outlet in the kitchen/living area with 3x integral USB charging ports which are available when mains power is provided either from hook up or the inverter. There is a further mains socket available in the garage. Additionally, there are 2 USB charging points available at any time in the living area.

About the area: Nancy lives in the quiet, rural village of South Willingham, located in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and is parked off-street in a covered area. Close to the historic cathedral city of Lincoln, not far from numerous open, sandy beaches along the coast, you could also experience the famous horse-race course at nearby Market Rasen. Additionally, there is the well-known Cadwell Park motor racing circuit which hosts many events during the year. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are a great number of walking paths or mountain bike tracks to explore. You can even find historical aviation links from historic WW2 bases to current front-line operational bases such as RAF Coningsby which is also home to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre and Museum. Nancy's home is very centrally placed and therefore ideal for exploring anywhere in the UK. Even the North Sea Ferry port in Hull is only an hour's drive away - why not take Nancy to the continent or pick her up to explore the UK if you are visiting from elsewhere?

Parking: If you drive to collect Nancy, you are welcome to leave your car in her normal spot, under cover and off-road. If you come by means of public transport, we can offer pick-up from Lincoln, Market Rasen, Grimbsy or Louth. Additionally, it is worth knowing that there is the local Humberside Airport (35 minutes away from Nancy’s home) as well as a direct train from Manchester to Cleethorpes (40 minutes away from Nancy’s home). Nancy's owners will be able to pick you up from these locations – please be aware a charge will apply depending on circumstances. Otherwise, we are also happy to advise on taxi providers.

Cooking Equipment: In addition to the two gas hobs inside, there is a dual gas burner that you can use to cook outside (optional extra, to be connected to the outside gas point on the offside centre of the van). Nancy has everything you could need to cook up a feast, including 2 chopping boards, a kettle, a frying pan, and large and small saucepans. There are 2 cooking spoons, 3 sharp knives, 1 bread knife, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener, grater, scissors, vegetable peeler, whisk, spatula, masher, and pizza cutter. There are 2 traditional tin camping mugs, 2 porcelain mugs and 3 bowls, 3 small, 3 medium and 3 large plates (all porcelain), 3 egg cups, cutlery for 4, 3 large wine glasses, 3-pint glasses, and 3 tumblers. Nancy also has 5 plastic containers plus lids for left-over food, cling film, foil and some freezer bags. There is an insulated 1l Coffee Gator Cafetiere and a toastie/toasting pan that you can use over the gas hob as well as a colander, big bowl, washing up bowl, measuring jug, and a tea/coffee/sugar tray. Let's not forget a spray oil and a variety of herbs/spices on the rack. There is even the option of a microwave for those days when you want the added convenience or have been out to play for too long! An Omnia oven can also be made available. You will also find a washing line, a notepad and a small dustpan and brush as well as a first aid kit, fire blanket and fire extinguisher. Washing up cloth, sponge, tea towel, eco-friendly washing up liquid, hand soap, guest slippers, one kitchen roll, one toilet roll, napkins as well as coasters and place-mats plus eco-friendly cleaning fluids are included.

Water and Sanitation: There is a 50-litre fixed drinking water tank in Nancy’s garage with an external fill-point that supplies cold water to the sink via a pump. Water can be heated using the kettle for kitchen use. For the optional external shower, there is a dedicated water heater which connects to the gas supply outside the van. (There is also access to the main water tank on the offside centre of the van). In terms of a toilet, a Thetford Porta Potti 365 can be booked as an optional extra. There is the choice of either storing it underneath one of the internal seats for inside use. Alternatively, it can be set up in a separate pop-up toilet tent that can also be used for showering.

Our Toilet Rule!

Our porta potti can be used inside the van but we expect all toilet users to only use the toilet when seated. This is for obvious hygiene reasons. THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO US AS WE WANT ALL CUSTOMERS TO ENJOY CLEAN AND HYGIENIC FACILITIES.

Should this rule not be adhered to, then we must charge an additional cleaning fee of £50.

Audio Equipment: Inside the cab, there is a Kenwood dashboard display which provides access to digital radio as well as mirroring of mobile phones (especially useful when navigating with google maps etc). There is also a Bose Soundlink Revolve available which has a blue-tooth connection so you can play your own music.

Type of Heating: As part of the conversion, Nancy has been insulated. Additionally, she has a 2 KW Diesel-heater which provides the living space with heat very quickly so you can stay toasty and warm during cold evenings and winter adventures.

Extra Information: We have worked hard to create our Nancy in a way that she is ready for an adventure yet offers many features which make her fellow adventurers feel at home. We particularly like the cosy feel of the inside, whether you are a couple, a family or friends taking Nancy out, you can snuggle up in a soft fleece blanket and put on the magical fairy lights. Turn on some music and relax in comfort. You will also find a couple of books that explore life on 4 wheels and cooking on 2 rings as well as "the ultimate adventure map of Britain" that may inspire you to go to places you had not considered before. Nancy's fridge has a total capacity of 60 litres which can either provide 7l of freezer space or the freezer compartment can be removed to provide a larger fridge capacity. Nancy's owners also offer an indoor and/or outdoor games package, as well as a port or whisky package as optional extras for those wanting to add a splash of lavishness to their holiday. Nancy's garage provides lots of storage opportunities. It is 75cm high and over the centre section, it is 1.8m long and 80cm wide. At the rear, it opens up to 1.7m wide.

There are also 2 ceiling vents for good air flow.

No Smoking - As Nancy's owners we are non smokers and therefore request a strict adherence to our non smoking rule in any part of our van. This is also to ensure all our guests can enjoy a smoke-free environment. Our guests' health is our priority!

Dog Access - Your furry friend is very welcome to accompany you in Nancy.

Whilst we are happy to welcome dogs in the cabin, the garage or on the floor of the living space, we would respectfully request that they are not permitted on seats or beds. This is in consideration of the other guests.

Conversion Story: Nancy began life as a working-class girl, transporting windows and equipment. After her working life, Nancy was able to do what she likes to do and help others do the same - enjoy the outdoors and go on adventures. She was converted in 2020 (during Covid) to enable one family of three to still go to places and have fun. At this time she was named Nancy, which is a name that dates back many centuries and is of Hebrew origin. The original meaning of Nancy is "Grace". We bought her after a long and careful hunt for just the right van, making a trip to Somerset to bring her to her new home. We have to say, she is one large lady (in all the right ways) but easy to drive! Nancy was given a lot of TLC to make her the best she can be and meet all regulatory requirements. We like to think that she is unique in her characteristics with high-quality fixtures and fittings, solid wood cupboards, lots (!) of storage space, her spacious bed and a high roof that allows for a relaxed posture for anyone as tall as one of her owners (1.89m or 74''). Nancy has a rustic and bohemian style, providing a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. Dani and Mike chose their unique colour scheme, as well as modern luxuries such as a diesel heater, an enclosed outdoor shower, a toilet, an Omnia oven etc to make van life even more pleasurable. If there is anything you think we have missed (check out the add-on section), please get in touch and we will see what we can do! We are a big bit in love with Nancy and we hope you will be too.
