Description

Description of Beds: Pearl can sleep up to 4 people. She has a permanent full size double bed at the rear of the van which sleeps 2 adults and the table pulls out to convert the seating area into another double which will accommodate 2 kids or smaller adults (180cm x 120cm). The main bed (181cm x 132cm) has a memory foam mattress and the side flares to make it comfortable even for those over 6ft tall.

Description of Seating: There are 3 belted seats (including the driver) in the front of the van. All 3 have 3 point isofix seatbelts. In the living space there is room to fit four people around the dining table on the bench seating. There are no seatbelts in the living space of the van.

Description of Electrical Setup: Pearl has 2 x 90W leisure batteries. These can be charged from the van whilst driving or via the electric hook up located on the driver's side. There is an inverter and a double 3 pin socket to plug in any electrical necessities like the microwave or a hairdryer. There are 6 USB charging points located around the van for charging all your personal devices.

About the area: Pearl lives in Crick, a quiet village in the leafy Northamptonshire countryside, close to the grand union canal. She is only 5 minutes from the M1 so can whisk you away to the Peak District, the Cotswolds or Shakespeare country within a few hours.

Parking: If you drive to collect Pearl, you are welcome to leave your car in her spot on the drive whilst you enjoy your holiday. There is also additional off-road parking just opposite the house, which is on a quiet residential street, where you can leave an additional vehicle if needed. If you come by train Pearl’s owner will be happy to collect you from Rugby, Market Harborough or Northampton station, all of which are within a 30 minute drive of Pearl’s home.

Cooking Equipment: Pearl has a gas fuelled oven with 2 gas hobs for cooking. She also has a microwave which can be used when hooked up to mains electricity. She has 4 large melamine dining plates, 4 matching side plates and 4 bowls. She also has 4 traditional camping mugs, 4 small plastic glasses and 4 plastic tumblers. She has several pots and pans, including a frying pan, for cooking up a feast along with baking trays for use in the oven. She has a stove top kettle with a whistle and a cafetiere for her coffee loving guests. Also provided are a selection of kitchen utensils, chopping boards, kitchen knives, a tin opener and a corkscrew bottle opener.

Water and Sanitation: Pearl has her own cassette toilet located in the main living space. There is also an outdoor shower, perfect for washing off muddy dogs and boots or for an al-fresco shower, should you wish. The water can be heated using the gas if you are wild camping or from the electric heater if you are on a campsite with electric hook-up.

Audio Equipment: Pearl has a funky battery powered DAB radio. She also has a bluetooth Sonos speaker you can connect to so you can play your own music. In the cab, there is a USB and AUX port so you can connect to the cab audio system to play your own music from your personal device or to connect your sat-nav system.

Type of Heating: Pearl has a 4kw diesel heater to keep you toasty in the cooler months. The heater is plumbed into the diesel tank, so it is easy to keep topped up with fuel. The heater has timer settings so you can set the heating to come on in the morning to warm up the van before you get out of bed.

Conversion Story: Pearl began life as a humble builders' van. After 3 years of faithful service she was purchased by her previous owner, who was a builder and a keen surfer, and converted Pearl into a surf friendly campervan. For 3 years she toured the beaches of the UK enjoying the sand and the sea air, until the impending arrival of a baby meant her owners couldn’t take care of her anymore and she needed a new home. She came to her present home in Northamptonshire in 2023 after her new owner spotted her Scandi style, spacious well-equipped living space and her plentiful luggage space, perfect for her and her 2 dogs, Freddie and Mabel to explore in.
