Description of Beds: 1 x full-size double bed with very comfortable memory foam mattress and UK-made sustainable bedding. 1 x single bed converted from the seating area, with mattress topper and bedding.

Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. 2 spacious seats in the rear centred on a moveable table. 1 pop-out stool to accommodate the third passenger around the table. Alfresco pull-out table when the van is parked and the door open plus outdoor seating. Perfect for an impromptu picnic!

Description of Electrical Setup: Solveig is fitted out with a brand-new multi-purpose electrical system that caters for everything. A large 120Ah leisure battery drives the fridge, LED lighting & USB ports throughout, plus 3 x 13A double sockets via a 500W inverter for everything else. This is charged by the solar panels on the roof, when hooked up to mains electricity or when driving. The batteries can last for days off-grid - even more in sunny weather or when on the move. All are managed via a digital display.

About the area: Solveig is based in rural Mid-Sussex in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It’s perfectly positioned for exploring the picturesque south coast of England and beyond. Brighton, Ashdown Forest and The South Downs are all under 30 mins away. A bit further are Eastbourne, Hastings, Worthing and Chichester with dozens of off-grid cool campsites in between. With Easy access to the M23 Solvieg can easily travel much further afield - and we’re only 40 minutes from the Newhaven ferry to whisk you to France and beyond. You are welcome to park your own vehicle on our driveway for the duration of the rental. No car? No problem - we can meet you at the nearby Balcombe train station which is only 40 minutes from London Bridge or 20 minutes from Brighton.

Parking: We have a private driveway where you can park when away on your trip.

Cooking Equipment: Inside Solveig you have a three-burner hob and oven, sink with hot and cold water, fridge and freezer compartment. You've also got a fully equipped kitchen space with a kettle | a coffee press | 4 Mugs | 4 Glasses | 2 cooking pots of different sizes with lids | a frying pan | 1 wooden chopping board. You also have lots of cooking utensils as well as 4 Dinner plates | 4 Dinner bowls | 4 Smaller plates | 4 Sets of knives, forks, spoons and teaspoons |2 Tea towels. Plus handwash, washing-up liquid and cleaning equipment.

Heating and Hot Water: A modern, integrated system has been installed to ensure there is always plenty of heat and hot water whenever & wherever you need it. When off-grid everything runs from the onboard propane gas bottle safely stowed in its own cupboard. When on an electrical hook everything can be run from the mains - or a mix of both should you wish. There is a thermostat, heating timer and levels of hot water all controlled by a fully integrated digital control.

Water and Sanitation: A large 100l fresh water tank feeds the sink for drinking water, indoor shower and outdoor shower with a mix of hot & cold water throughout. The water system is pressurised meaning, it flows instantly whenever the taps or showers are switched on. The onboard shower is hidden cleverly under one of the seats and drains into a stainless steel tray with wooden duckboards. The outdoor shower is connected from the side of the van and can be used alfresco or within the provided outdoor shower tent. There is a 50l grey water tank under the van that can be easily emptied at a suitable location.

Audio Equipment: CD player in the cab with Bluetooth pairing, digital radio, 3.5mm AUX & USB inputs.

Extra Information: The base van is a 2016 Citroen Relay which is EURO 6 compliant meaning it can enter low emissions zones and is very economical on fuel.

Conversion Story: Solveig was hand-crafted in Scotland by Studio Hideout in 2022. She is only the second van produced by this bespoke designer and craftsman who spends months on each creation paying close attention to detail using sustainable materials and methods throughout. We commissioned Solveig from scratch and worked closely with the designer to bring some unique features and designs to the van making it truly one of a kind. After owning and loving a 1972 T2 followed by a 1989 T25 it was time for us to get something a little bigger that we could use all year round and be a springboard for adventures in the UK and beyond.
