Description of Seating: The van has three belted seatbelts in the front cabin (including the driver). This does not stop it from being able to seat four comfortably in the living space if you have guests. The three belted seats in the front have three-point belts and the non-driving seats are suitable for a child car seat using a belt, there are no isofix fittings.
Description of Electrical Setup: Ducky has a 120ah leisure battery which is charged from the engine alternator or mains hook up. The van comes with a 1500W inverter with sockets inside the van’s living space and in the boot. Ducky also comes with four USB charging points within the van. The van has a 240v electric hook-up socket but the leisure battery is capable of keeping the fridge and phones charged for a few days without using the engine alternator or hook up.
About the area: Ducky lives on a driveway on a private road in North London. There isn't much to see around here but we are well placed for getting out to the rest of the country.
Parking: If you drive to collect Ducky, you are welcome to leave your car in its normal spot, a private driveway. Ducky has a reversing camera making it easier to park.
Cooking Equipment: Ducky has two gas hobs and a surprisingly roomy 50l fridge. They have everything you need to cook up a feast including 4 mugs, 4 melamine plates and bowls, cutlery for 4, a chopping board, a fold-up kettle, a medium frying pan, a large steamer doubling as a saucepan, 2 sharp knives, bottle opener, potato masher, Aeropress coffee maker, colander, washing up bowl, small dustpan brush, wooden spoon and spatula, grater and slicer and peeler.
Water and Sanitation: Ducky has a 60l water tank that supplies water to the sink via a pump. The tank is refilled from the side of the van. The van also has an outdoor shower attachment, the water can be heated by the van’s combi heater.
Type of Heating: Ducky has a truma combi heater which is powered by the van's LPG tank. This means it won't run down the van's battery so is great for being off-grid. The heater also heats the van's water supply if needed.
Optional Extras: We can provide you with camping chairs and a table for use with Ducky if required as well as various bedding options. Bouldering mats and climbing guides/advice can also be offered. Ducky fits two DMM highball bouldering mats as the van was designed for this specifically.
Conversion Story: Ducky began life as a local store in Bolton's cash and carry runner; they were selected for their reasonable length but impressive width and low mileage. Converted in 2021/2 by Twin Coast Campers in Devon after seeing their amazing work here on Quirky Campers. Ducky was designed to feel like a tiny home on wheels; the van remains a reasonable size while including a large bed and comfortable living space with a pop top to give it a nice airy feel. They were originally commissioned to be a climber's van but due to changes to the owner's life situation, they have been used as a family campervan more.
