Description

Description of Beds: Morag sleeps up to 3 people comfortably. The original formation offers 2 singles measuring 72cm wide and 210cm long and the potential for a smaller single in the cab area measuring 70cm wide and 190cm long. The 2 72 cm wide singles in the living area can be transformed into a super king size measuring 184cm wide and 210cm long. You can bring your own bedding or sleeping bags for your stay in Morag or we can provide bedding if you would prefer.

Description of Seating: Three belted seats in the front (including driver) with headrests. The living space has two very long seats that could seat up to 6 people with the option of 2 dining tables that can be connected to create 1 large dining table.

Description of Electrical Setup: Morag is made for Off Grid Adventures with a combination charging system which powers the 210Ah of batteries through solar and split charge relay while on the move directly from the van. She also has a 230v hook up as well, if you find yourself staying overnight where it is available. The beauty of Morag electrics is that you really shouldn't need to think about them at all as the power available is more than enough to power everything available. Morag has USB ports in the Cab, Kitchen, Seating and Bed areas for charging your phone and an inverter if you need to charge your laptop, camera batteries or any other small energy-using appliance.

About the area: Morag is Hamish's wee sister, crafted in Kincraig, just outside of Aviemore. She is at peace while amongst the hills, is very comfortable cruising through the glens and can often be found resting up near a beautiful loch or some coastal route around the Highlands. We are located 30 miles south of Inverness in the heart of The Cairngorm National Park and deceivingly close to the very centre of Scotland, so whether your adventure takes you to the NC500, The Whisky Trail, The Isle of Skye, The Outer Hebrides or either coast, we are in a great place to start.

Parking:If you plan to arrive by car, you are very welcome to leave your car with us in our freshly created parking area. If you come by train or bus we can arrange to hand over Morag on arrival at Aviemore Train Station and collect her again, when you head home. If arriving at Inverness Airport, a taxi can be arranged for around £70.

Cooking Equipment: Morag offers a simple but functional 2-hob stove. She comes with everything you need to replenish yourself while exploring the remotest parts of the Highlands. Cups, Plates, Bowls, Kettle, Frying Pan, Sautee Pan, Cutlery, Bread Knife, Sharp Food Prep Knives, Chopping Boards, Tin Opener, Grater, Place Mats, Coasters and more.

Water and Sanitation: Morag has an cool outdoor shower situated inside the rear doors that is ideal for rinsing off after visiting the beach or having a swim in a loch. It is also really handy to rinse off your dog's paws or your boots after a muddy hike. We can include a portable toilet which can be used inside or outside. The freshwater supply for the sink and shower comes from a 60L tank that is built into an area beneath the seats. The 25L waste container is also positioned for simplicity and easy access in a cupboard beneath the cooker.

Audio Equipment: Morag has a modern style head unit built-in with USB hookup, Bluetooth, Tom Tom Sat Nav and CD Player.

Type of Heating: Morag has a very efficient and simple-to-use diesel heater for use as required. The fuel draws directly from the main vehicle tank and only uses a litre for every 3 to 5 hours of heating.

Conversion Story: Morag is the latest chapter in our story as Vulcan Van Conversions and a wee sister to Hamish. From our workshop near Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands, we have been converting and selling campers since 2018. Morag is the second conversion that we designed and created after Hamish with the intention to hire out and we are very excited to share her with you. We have taken our design and production knowledge from a combined 40 years of Blacksmithing/Engineering and intertwined them with our ever-evolving woodworking skills to create another cosy, robust, sturdy conversion that's beauty is felt in its simplicity.

Morag is already very familiar with the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. Having spent her early years with a flooring business in Benbecula, North Uist in the Outer Hebrides. She was brought to the mainland and then on to us in the heart of the Cairngorm mountains and where we converted her. Since the conversion, she has already been out on a few trips around the NC500 and feels perfectly at home whether in a holiday park, wild camping site, off-grid or parking area within a town.
